Multicoloured Earrings with Silk Screen Prints
A Good Day’s Work
These earrings were made from some coloured scraps of polymer clay, torn into pieces and added to a pearl colour background. This was then passed through my pasta machine to produce a flat sheet and a black acrylic paint was applied through a silk screen. The shapes were cut out and heat cured. A very thin coat of liquid translucent clay was added to protect the surface design and they were heat cured again then drilled and assembled. Photos of the various stages are shown.
8 different shapes are currently available in 2 colour options. The drop earrings have black colour ear wires and the stud type drops have a stainless steel ear post and a choice of metal or silicone back stops.
The rounded triangle is 4.8cm long and 2.5cm wide; the diamond shape is 4.2cm long and 2.8cm wide; the trapezoid is 3.6cm long and 2.2cm wide and the black polished stud is 1.5cm diameter; the gothic window shape is 3.9cm long and 2.8cm wide; the hexagon is 3.1cm long and 2.6cm wide and the pearl colour stud is 1cm diameter; the teardrop shape is 4.2cm long and 2.6cm wide; the oval drop is 5cm long and 2.2cm wide and the black polished stud is 1.5cm diameter; the semi circle is 4.2cm long and 2.1cm wide.
All earrings have a pearl coloured back which is lightly textured as shown.
