A Breath of Spring

Persephone is the Greek goddess of spring growth and the colours of this necklace reminds me of spring flowers such as bluebells and hyacinths.

This polymer clay technique was first described by Alice Stroppel around 2011 and very soon became popular. Here I have used a purple background and coloured cane scraps to make this stripy design.

The necklace has 15 handmade beads which are sanded and polished to produce a shiny finish. The beads are between 1.7cm and 3cm long and are separated with toning colour glass beads. The necklace is threaded onto flexible 17 strand beading wire and is 56cm long and fastened with a silver plated lobster clasp.
